Yesterday night was a very happy one for the Dj Cuppy foundation as the sum of ₦5 billion was donated to the organization by billionaire, Mr. Femi Otedola to help with the foundations goal of saving children against acute malnutrition in the Northeastern part of Nigeria.
The donation was made at the inaugural of his daughter’s “Dj Cuppy Foundation gold gala which was held at Transcorp Hotel, Abuja. The donation was made through Mr. Otedola‘ first daughter, Miss Tolani Otedola.
According to the Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo as he was present at the occasion, said that the ₦5 billion donation by Otedola was the biggest act of charity in Nigeria today.
Osinbajo said that we don’t need billionaires or millionaires to start doing something, that the likes of DJ Cuppy who are already doing something that affects lives is a good example.
Otedola wasn’t the only philanthropist to give out a huge amount of money to support the Foundation, Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote gave the total sum of ₦100 million to aide the organization as he said that the country needs more Nigerians with a big heart to give should not be allowed to do it alone as the government already has a lot challenges.
