The Nigeria Football Federation is set to announce new head
coaches of the national teams and an official in the federation has revealed
that the all the coaches have been asked to attach their resignation letters to
their signed contracts.
On the condition of anonymity, the source made this known to
the media that the NFF took the decision after due consultation to avoid
getting into legal dispute or being taken to FIFA or CAS in future in case of
any violation. The source also revealed that while the new clause might not be
found in any of the contract papers, it is one of the verbal conditions given
to all national team coaches before putting pen to paper.
“I can tell you authoritatively that the best way out of any
contract issue is to have their resignation letters especially the head coach
of national teams which include U17 (male and female), U20 (male and female),
U23, Super Falcons and Super Eagles.”
“The decision will also help both parties to avoid being
dragged to FIFA or Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS),” the official said.
