Ajax defender, Daley Blind, collapsed during a pre-season
friendly raising fears over his footballing career following his diagnosis of a
heart condition sometime last year.
There was an evidence of concern about the Dutch man after he
collapsed to the floor in the final minutes of Ajax’s friendly against Hertha
Berlin. Head coach, Erik ten Haag, has allayed the fears that he is feeling “okay”
but would still undergo further tests at hospital.
Blind was diagnosed with a heart muscle inflammation after
suffering from dizziness during a Champions League match against Valencia in
December. The Dutch man was fitted with an implantable cardioveter
defibrillator (ICD) system before he returned to full training earlier this
year in February.
The device monitors and regulates his heart rhythm constantly.
