The chairman of the Niger delta development commission COVID-19 Palliatives distribution committee, Soboma Jackrich, said the interim management committee of the NDDC must account for the N6.25bn palliative fund.
Jackrich, in a statement on Sunday, advised the IMC to wait for the National assembly to probe the alleged embezzlement following the petition he (Jackrich) wrote to the president of senate, Ahmed Lawan;the speaker of the house of representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila and other principal members of the National Assembly.
He Noted that the money approved by the president Muhammadu Buhari for the benefit of the indigent people of the niger delta had allegedly been stolen, denying the citizens the opportunity to benefit from the fund.
In the statement titled "N6.25bn palliatives embezzzlement allegiations: NDDC still shooting itself in the foot; Jackrich said the IMC was employing gimmicks including referring to him as erstwhile chairman of the COVID-19 palliatives committee when his committee was "validly appointed to oversee COVID-19 distribution of the funds, a chance the IMC denied me."
