Police Corporal Shot Dead By Gunmen Attack In Ibadan

 On Friday 21 August at about 9pm, Two policemen  were attacked by Gunmen near a police station in Ikoloba area of Ibadan, Oyo state capital,which resulted in the death of a police Corporal while the other one sustained injuries.

Though the Gunmen's mission is still not clear at the moment,the police spokesperson Gbenga Fadyei said policemen had been deployed in the area and normalcy has been restored.

The statement read;

At about 9pm of 21/08/2020,  two policemen who were attached to Ikoloba police station who were at the other side of the road of the station were Attacked by hoodlums in a moving vehicle , in the process, one police Corporal was shot dead while one inspector was injured and he is recuperating in the hospital while the hoodlums ran away .

The police station was not Attacked. Immediately,the commissioner of police got wind of the incident,he gave the order to all police Tactical teams including SARS,SRS,SKYNET, FEDERAL AND SAFER HIGHWAY PATROL TEAMS,PUFF ADDER TEAM ETC to be on the trail of the hoodlums.

The deputy commissioner of police operations also went there immediately for on the spot assessment of the incident and all police teams were put on red alert. Efforts intensified to arrest the hoodlums.
