The Federation International
Football Association (FIFA) has suspended the elections of the Ivorian Football
Federation that was scheduled for September 5 to further notice. The suspension
came following their failure to submit the documentations FIFA asked of from
the FIF.
FIFA cited concerns that the FIF
electoral process might not be free and fair thereby requesting the FIF’s
electoral commission to submit through five files so they can be vetted.
In a statement released by the FIFA
Secretary General, it states, “Pending your manuscripts and information, we
invite you to cancel all actions relating to the electoral process until
further notice. Some say that the committee has been prevented from reviewing
its activities in total calm and an independent manner because of outside
interference,” Fatma Samoura said.
