I’m not someone that gives up – Pierre Gasly



The Italian Grand Prix winner, Pierre Gasly has hailed himself for fighting till the end at Monza as he won his maiden Grand Prix race. The 24-year old with his win has become the first driver from his country [France] to win a race since Olivier Panis in 1996.

 

“It’s amazing, I’m honestly lost for words, it’s unbelievable. I have been through so many things in 18 months, it’s better than anything I expected. I am not someone that gives up on anything. I have always had to fight for everything in my life since I was in karting. My drive to be better is so strong,” Gasly said.

 

“I have got no words – it is an amazing day. It’s been so long since another French winner. I never expected this, I’m so happy,” he added.

 

Gasly was demoted from Red Bull’s senior team halfway through the season and landed himself in AlphaTauri of which he has made history with.

 

He also praised his team which he said gave him everything.
