Lewis Hamilton extended his title lead in the Circuit de Catalunya
after sealing a dominant Spanish GP victory while also breaking Schumacher’s F1
podium record in the process.
After a week of surprise that saw Red Bull and Max Verstappen hand
Mercedes their first defeat of the season, Hamilton, not fearful of the Red
Bull threat, was in control from start to finish in Barcelona despite
Verstappen’s admirable efforts.
The win also means Lewis Hamilton has broken Michael Schumacher’s
record of 155 F1 podiums to make it 156 for himself – while he is also just
three wins away from Schumacher’s all-time record of 91.
Hamilton was in a league of his own although there was a
fascinating battle between him, Verstappen and Bottas.
