Super Eagles goalkeeper, Ikechukwu
Ezenwa has expressed his anger at the club hierarchy of Heartland FC over the
current situation which saw players’ salaries being slashed by a huge margin.
“I’ve never gone through this kind
of experience since I became a professional footballer. It’s like the
management of the club is looking at players like people who don’t know their
rights,” the former Kastina United goalkeeper said.
“I’ve never seen such a situation
where management will just slash salaries of players who have contracts. I’m
not the only one involved because the wages of other players and the technical
crew were all slashed, it’s painful!,” he added.
He claimed the club removed 200,000
naira from his salary while other players have lost amounts ranging from
150,000 to 250,000 naira. He said the situation has disorganized the team.
