Grealish pens down a five year deal with Villa

The captain of Aston Villa, Jack Grealish has put pen to paper to extend his contract with the club through to 2025 after interests from few English clubs this summer.  The 24 year old was in demand this summer with the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal showing interest.

Grealish broke into the youth ranks of his hometown club in 2014, sticking with them despite being relegated to the Championship in 2016. He played a key role in their return to the Premier League in 2019. He enjoyed a stellar season with Villa as they escaped being relegated last term.

“I am delighted to make this commitment to Villa. It is my club, my home and I am very happy here. The owners have made it clear to me how ambitious they are and how they want to build Aston Villa. There are exciting times ahead and I am glad to be part of it,” Grealish said.

Aston Villa will kick off their 20/21 season when they visit Burton Albion on Tuesday in the Carabao Cup before they play Sheffield United on Monday night in what would be their Premier League opener.
