Nigeria’s Emuidzhi Oghiabekhva has
made history as he became the first Africa to win the golden boot of the UEFA
Women’s Champions League. She achieved this feat with her Belarusian club,
Minsk.
Oghiabekhva netted 10 goals in 7
outings for Minsk in the Women’s CL 19/20 season. She netted 6 goals in the
qualifying rounds and added another 4 in the mai tournament before Barcelona
got better off of Minsk in the Round of 16.
The 30-year old would share the
prize with Vivianne Miedema (Arsenal) and Bergling Bjorg (Breidablik) who also
notched the same amount of goals as the Nigerian.
She scored 17 goals in 11 outings
in all competitions this season before injury forced her to sit out for
remaining games.
