Gunmen Takes The Life Of A Celebrity Drummer In Edo State

 

Gunmen have taken the life of a celebrated drummer in a community in Edo.

Gunmen believed to be involved in kidnapping have fatally shot a prominent drummer named HC Ikhamateh Akhumhele in the Osholo community, located within the Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State. 

The incident occurred on Saturday, October 26, 2024, between the areas of Iviukwe and Akioli. 

SP Moses Yamu, the spokesperson for the State Police Command, verified the occurrence to reporters in Benin City on Sunday, October 28.

The Public Relations Officer (PPRO) remarked, "We are engaging with community leaders regarding this regrettable incident, while tactical teams have been dispatched to thoroughly investigate the crime scene and its vicinity in pursuit of the suspects' apprehension."

"District Police Officers (DPOs) in adjacent areas have also been notified to remain vigilant for these individuals."

"The Command welcomes any information from the public that may assist the police in identifying and apprehending the offenders."
