Angel Reese States That The Salary She Earns In The WNBA Is Less Than What Is Needed To Even Rent Or Lease A House: ‘I’m Living Beyond My Means!’

Balling out in the WNBA, Angel Reese is one of the league’s most marketable and sometimes complicated figures, but according to her, she could not survive if the wage she earned from the Chicago Sky was her only source of income.

In her latest Instagram Live video, she expressed that the hatred from some fans that she receives not only enhances her performance, but also aids in financing her life.

"Hating helps them with money," she said. "I mean, the WNBA does not cover my expenses at all. I doubt it even pays one of my bills. Honestly, I’m trying to recall my rent where I live. Let me calculate that quickly. I’m not sure what my (WNBA) salary is. Maybe $74,000?"

After a friend off-camera confirmed her $8000/month rent for her upscale apartment surpassed her rookie contract earnings, Reese exclaimed, "I’m spending more than I should!"

Reese, who was first in rebounding in the WNBA this year until a wrist injury ended her season, has made a lot of money outside of basketball, starting from her college years.

During her final year at LSU, Reese secured a large endorsement contract with Reebok. This was part of around 20 deals with brands like PlayStation, Raising Canes, McDonald's, Coach, Wingstop, Outback Steakhouse, and Amazon, valued at about $1.7 million.
