Bartomeu accused of corruption by Catalan police

Barcelona president, Josep Maria Bartomeu has not been on the good side of the news as he has recently been accused of corruption by the Catalan police department, Los Mossos.

 

He was alleged to have been making personal, financial gains from club deals completed on behalf of Barcelona relating to a case widely known as Barcagate. The case refers to documents revealing incriminating details about the club’s finances as claimed by El Larguero earlier  this year.

 

The reported documents were said to have shown the club paying a third party to damage the reputations of its players including Lionel Messi and Gerard Pique who are rumored to be opponents to Bartomeu. Few club legends and directors were also targeted.
