In Australia, three firefighters from United State died while battling with a huge bush fire. On January 23, 2020, the C-130 tanker they were flying crashed in the southern part of the country.
According to the local officials, in Snowy Mountain, the firefighters were killed in the crash after leaving the town of Richmond in the New South Wales State on a firebombing mission.
The Rural Fire Commissioner, Shane Fitzsimmons said, “Unfortunately, all we’ve been able to do is locate the wreckage and the crash site and we have not been able to locate any survivors” after the crash.
He said “There is no indication t this stage of what’s caused the accident”.
Berejiklian also wrote “Out Of respect for the three US firefighters who lost their lives operation a Large Air Tanker, flags will fly at half-mast in NSW tomorrow”. After she tweeted about the tragic deaths and offered her condolences to the families of the victims in the scene of the accident.
She also said “Our thought are not just with family and loved ones but for anyone who feels impacted by what has unfolded this afternoon”.
