Identical twin sisters, separated at birth, have ceased communication after reuniting online three decades later due to personal differences.
As reported by Mail Online, Zhang Li and Cheng Keke, hailing from Henan, China, connected through social media in 2021 upon recognizing their striking resemblance. A subsequent DNA test confirmed their status as identical twins, and their families revealed that they had been separated at birth.
Upon reestablishing contact, the sisters initially expressed a profound sense of sisterly bond.
Their narrative gained significant attention across social media platforms in China, prompting Li and Keke to leverage their newfound fame by launching an e-commerce venture. However, this business endeavor was marred by ongoing disputes and disagreements.
Ultimately, their relationship endured for only three years, with the sisters now no longer in communication.
Keke reported that during their live-streaming sessions aimed at promoting their products, Li frequently left without any prior notice, sometimes vanishing for periods of two to three days.
Keke remarked, "She never communicated her departure, and I was unable to locate her. This is not the work ethic I appreciate."
It was noted that the situation escalated one evening when Li discreetly removed all their shared possessions from their rental apartment while Keke was absent, resulting in a significant confrontation between them.
Keke asserted that she consistently bore the financial responsibilities for rent, meals, and other daily expenses whenever they traveled for live-streaming events.
From Li's viewpoint, their personalities were markedly different: she was candid, whereas her sister preferred to suppress her feelings and resort to the 'silent treatment.'
Li also held Keke accountable for the unsuccessful outcomes of many of their live-streaming endeavors, claiming that over the years, they had incurred losses amounting to approximately 600,000 Chinese Yuan (£65,000).
She stated, "I directly informed her that I would no longer participate in live-streaming with her."
Following their setbacks in live-streaming, Li opted to establish a physical store in her hometown of Dengfeng.
Keke traveled there to lend her support, but their relationship ultimately deteriorated during a contentious discussion regarding the store's management and the financial contributions made by each sister.
The bond between the sisters completely disintegrated after yet another work-related dispute in January 2023, marking the last occasion they were in each other's presence.
