Three Atalanta players have tested
positive for the coronavirus but they are all asymptomatic and have been
isolated, the club said in a statement. The tests were carried out ahead of the
club’s return to training ahead of the new season.
The affected players who were not
named would not partake in the team’s training sessions as Atalanta confirmed
that training went ahead as normal for the rest of the squad.
The new season is due to start September
19 as the fixtures for the new campaign would be released on September 2. Italy
have stated they want to fall in line by beginning the season as with the
German Bundesliga.
