Jason Gavern have felt the power of
three undisputed champions in the boxing world. Despite not being able to stand
against either of the trio, Gavern has come out to say who his toughest
opponent among the three was.
“I’ve shared the ring with Wilder,
Joshua and Fury. And [James] Toney. I’ve been in the ring with them all. Joshua
is more technical than Wilder. Look at their records – he doesn’t have the same
knockout stats that Wilder does. It was crazy how good Tyson was, and this was
six years ago. I sparred with Fury in Bolton for 10 days. He was amazing,” he
said.
“He [Joshua] didn’t hurt me with
the first couple of knock downs, they were flash knock downs. But the last
knock down? He hurt me. Even when I went back to the locker room, I was still
wobbly. I was never hurt against Wilder,” he added.
Gavern who has served as a sparring
partner in different boxing camps to boxers has gotten experiences as regards
to boxing. In addition to being a sparring partner, Gavern is also a
professional fighter who has lost 21 of his 52 fights.
He has used boxing to realize new
dreams. At 43 years old, Gavern stated he is still definitely available as he
hasn’t got a call since his last fight against Dave Allen four and a half years
ago. He is currently serving as a police officer.
