In a deal that could rise to 19.5m
pounds, Crystal Palace have bolstered their attack by signing Eberechi Eze from
Queens Park Rangers. Eze, who bagged 14 goals in the Championship last season
for QPR, joined Roy Hodgson’s squad on a five year deal after the Eagles fended
off competition from Aston Villa, Fulham, Leeds, West Brom and West Ham.
Palace offer were initially put off
after they bade 12m pounds for the forward but they were not determined to walk
away and had to meet QPR’s demands for an initial 16m pounds plus add-ons that
saw QPR part ways with their player.
This signing makes Eze the most
expensive signing for the Eagles since Hodgson’s appointment in 2017 and the
club’s third most expensive signing. Crystal Palace have also showed
determination in rejuvenating their squad having brought in Nathan Ferguson
earlier on from West Brom.
