FA: No replays in this season’s FA Cup

 

In a statement released on Thursday by the Football Association, they said the decision to scrap the replays has been made to assist in easing pressure on the football schedule and to ensure that domestic competitions can still be delivered. With that effect, the prize money has also been reduced as a result of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

 

The FA Cup competition will begin with a preliminary round on September 1, with the final due to be played at Wembley on 15 May, 2021.

 

Arsenal are the current holders of the FA Cup after beating off Chelsea to win at Wembley.
