Hamilton wins Belgian GP as Mercedes extends title lead

Lewis Hamilton cruised to another victory in the Belgian Grand Prix which was his 89^th career win. Mercedes have now ended their three-year wait for a victory in Spa Francorchamps and also extended the title lead to a massive 47 points.

 

Hamilton, who led the race from the start to finish saw off competition from his own team mate, Valterri Bottas and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, is now two wins away from the all-time victory record of Michael Schumacher which he could equal he two races’ time.

 

Hamilton, who after his win paid a quick tribute to Chadwick Boseman, stated that he experienced some late-race nerves on his hard tyres but he kept his head down for an incredible win.
