After guiding Liverpool to what was their maiden title in Premier League era, Jurgen Klopp have beat off competition from the likes of Frank Lampard, Brendan Rodgers and Chris Wilder to win the award.
Liverpool ended their 30-year wait for a Premier League title in a
season that saw that finish 18 points above previous season champions,
Manchester City. The Kops wrapped up the title with seven games to spare
following the restart of the league amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Other nominees like Frank Lampard, who was nominated after guiding
Chelsea to a top four finish and a FA Cup final; Chris Wilder was also
nominated for leading Sheffield United to a top ten finish while Leicester’s
Brendan Rodgers
This award would come as a double celebration for the club after
Trent Alexander Arnold also won the Premier League Young Player of the Season.
