Inside the
NBA analyst, Kenny Smith, walked off live TV in a show of
solidarity with the basketball players who boycotted games in protest against
police brutality and racial injustice.
The show host, Ernie Johnson, asked the two-time NBA champion
for his reaction after Milwaukee Bucks boycotted their playoff game against
Orlando Magic in protest of police shooting of Jacob Blake in Wisconsin.
“Right now, my head is ready to explode just in the thoughts
of what is going on. I don’t even know if I am appropriate enough to say what
the players are feeling and how they are feeling. I haven’t talked to any of
the players,” he replied.
Prior to his departure from the studio, he also added that he
is not fully equipped and thinks it is best for him to support the players and
just not be in the show.
Smith played in the NBA for 10 years and has forged a
successful career in the media since his retirement.
