Sergio Aguero unlikely to play again this season

The Argentine skipper has not played since Man City’s win over Burnley in June. He has all but resigned himself to missing his club’s Champions League campaign and believes he may not play again until next season due to his knee injury.

Aguero suffered the injury in City’s 5-0 win over Burnley on 24 June, being replaced on the 48th minute at the Etihad Stadium. His injury subsequently required surgery of which he has undergone and is still recovering in Barcelona.

With City in Portugal ahead of their quarter final clash with French based team, Lyon, Aguero may still join the team to cheer them on but whether he will be available is highly unlikely.
