Lazio’s sporting director, Igli Tare, has expressed his anger
after the deal to sign David Silva from Manchester City went fell through. He has
said he does not respect Silva as a man after it appeared the Spaniard ditched
the Italian side to join Real Sociedad.
Lazio were confident of striking a deal with the midfielder and
offered him a three-year deal worth 10m euros a year, but Silva opted to join
Sociedad on a two-year deal.
“I’ve heard about David Silva’s transfer to Real Sociedad. I have
huge respect for the player but not for the man,” Tare reiterated.

The 34-year old bowed out of Manchester City after 10 seasons
where he won 11 major trophies including 4 Premier League titles. City also
announced they will honor Silva with a statue outside the Etihad Stadium in recognition
for his services to the club.
