Head coach of Paris Saint Germain, Thomas Tuchel, has confirmed
that Kylian Mbappe could start for the French champions ahead of their semifinal
clash with RB Leipzig on Tuesday.
The France international was a major doubt after sustaining an
injury in a cup final vs Saint Etienne in July. But he came off the bench in
their game against Atalanta and made a big impact and finished the game
unscathed.
“He played for 30 minutes against Atalanta and had no problems
with his ankle. So, he will train and if there is the possibility for him to
start, we will see if he can play the 90 minutes,” Tuchel said.
Tuchel’s side were crowned Ligue 1 champions in April after the
season was cut short amid the coronavirus pandemic, before going on to win two
domestic cup titles. They will be looking forward to knock off Leipzig and go
into what will be their maiden UCL final.
