Manchester City duo tests positive for coronavirus

With Manchester City due to start their 20/21 PL season on September 21, two of their players have been confirmed to have tested positive for COVID-19. Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte are the players reported to have the disease.

 

Both are currently self isolating abiding by the protocols of the Premier League and the UK government. They have also been reported to be asymptomatic.

 

“Everyone at the club wishes Riyad and Aymeric a speedy recovery ahead of their return to training and the new season,” City said in a statement.

 

Mahrez and Laporte have tweeted in response to the messages of support from fans, hoping to join the team soonest.
