Fernando Marcal has completed his
move from the French side Lyon to Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Brazilian who made
68 appearances for Lyon after joining in 2017 has signed a two-year deal with
Wolves.
The 31-year old is Wolves’ second
summer signing after bringing in Fabio Silva from Porto for a club record fee.
Marcal started his career in Gremio, a Brazilian club which has been
responsible for bringing through some big names in football like Ronaldinho.
“We are pleased Marcal has joined
the pack. Having played over 280 appearances in top leagues as well as
Champions League, Marcal will add a huge amount of experience to our [young]
team,” Jeff Shi, Wolves’ executive chairman said.
Shi also praised his style of play
and hopes he would add to the team with this ability and experience.
