My DNA hasn’t changed – Jose Mourinho

Ahead of Tottenham’s season opener against Everton on Sunday, Mourinho had a chat with the press as he marked his 20th year since he took the management role which started at Benfica. The Portuguese despite his many highs and lows, has eight league titles with two Champions League winners medal.

“I am the same in my DNA, my principles, I’m the same man. But obviously a big evolution in terms of coaching, in terms of managing players and football teams, and the evolution of everything related to the game,” he told Sky Sports.

“But I am the same guy. Of course the color of my hair is different and some wrinkles. But I’m the same guy, the same principles, the same passion, nothing at all has changed. I love everything about my job. The only thing I don’t enjoy is to lose, I hate to lose. But I know very well that it is part of our job. But everything related to my job is something I love, that is why I don’t see myself doing another thing in my life,” he added.

The 57-year old also revealed how tasking man management could be citing his experiences so far in football. He also chipped in a few words when asked how the 20/21 season was going to be for him.

“It is for Tottenham. Not for me. In this moment, I feel myself as a club man. I am in a state of my career where I am not worried about anything to show something or prove to anyone, so for me I would say it is a very important season for Spurs, and I want to be important in that season by helping to reach important things”.

Tottenham welcomes Carlo Ancelotti lead Merseyside team, Everton in a Super Sunday clash by 4:30pm.
