Ivan Rakitic has left Barcelona to
sign for the Europa League winners, Sevilla, the same club he captained to a
Europa title in the 13/14 season.
The Croatian midfielder who spent
six years at the Catalan club has signed a four year deal with Julen Lopetegui’s
side. According to multiple reports, Barca would receive 8m euros for the
player if certain add-ons on the deal is met.
The new Barca head coach made it
clear to the Croat that he is not in his plans for the 20/21 season. Negotiations
for Rakitic stepped up on Monday after which he underwent his medicals when a
fee was agreed.
Rakitic won 13 trophies at
Barcelona, including 1 Champions League, 4 La Liga titles and 4 Copa del Rey
titles.
