Youngster Detained After Poisoning Her Ex-Boyfriend And 4 Others In Edo State

An Edo youngster is in detention for poisoning her ex-boyfriend and four others

Aisha Suleiman, 16, has been arrested by the Edo State Police Command on charges of poisoning her ex-boyfriend, Emmanuel, and four other young men in the Afashio community in the Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State. When Emmanuel's father, Mr. Elogie Ezekiel, arrived at his son's flat at around 6:30 a.m. on October 26, 2024, he discovered some dead people inside. This unfortunate discovery was publicised. According to reports, Ezekiel discovered Nurudeen's body in the hallway. He found Emmanuel, 19, and his girlfriend, Ada Samuel, 16, dead on the bedroom bed as he made his way farther into the flat.

That when he entered the flat, he discovered his son's friend Nurudeen—whose last name is unknown—dead in the hallway. He went one step farther and discovered his son's and his 16-year-old girlfriend Ada Samuel's lifeless bodies on the bedroom bed.

In the sitting room, two more of the son's friends—Samuel Ayegwalo and Jeffrey Ayegwalo—who were discovered to be siblings. After being taken to the hospital, the doctor pronounced them deceased. "Aisha Suleiman, a 16-year-old girl who was later identified as the person who killed Emmanuel Elogie and four others by consuming food poison, was on the verge of being lynched by some young men from the community," Jattu Division operatives learnt on October 29, 2024, at approximately 1710 hours.

He added that the next day, the matter was moved to the state Criminal inquiry Department for a separate inquiry after they mobilised to the area and rescued the suspect to the station. "CP Umoru Peter Ozigi, the Commissioner of Police, has instructed that every effort be made to determine the cause of death of these youths," he said in closing. He assured the people that justice will be done in the matter, but he also cautioned against jungle justice.
