David Silva have been officially
unveiled as a Real Sociedad player after leaving Manchester City at the end of
last season. He received multiple offers from around the world but he chose to
return to his homeland in Spain.
The 34-year old would wear the no.
21 shirt for his new team, the same number he wore at City, Valencia and Spain.
He explained that he chose the La Liga side due to their style of play.
“I chose this club for the style of
play that distinguishes it. I cannot deny that some personal reasons also
influenced this choice but now I am happy to be back in Spain. The fact that I had
already played in Eibar had an impact because I had a great time, to come here I
refused great offers from all over the world.”
He will compete in the Europa League
for Sociedad next season after they finished sixth in the previous campaign.
In the other news, the Spaniard has tested positive for coronavirus and is expected to self siolate and observe the due protocols.
