The president of Italian club side
Napoli, Aurelio De Laurentiis has tested positive for coronavirus, the club
confirmed on Thursday. The test, according to the club, was carried out on
Wednesday.
De Laurentiis was reportedly
present in a Serie A meeting on Wednesday alongside other top officials all
twenty Italian Serie A clubs.
The 71-year old has done a great
job by restoring Napoli to its former glory since he took over in 2004 after
they were declared bankrupt and were relegated to Serie C, the third tier in
Italian football. Since his take over, the Naples team has not finished outside
of the top ten for more than a decade now in Serie A.
Napoli won the Coppa Italia last
season edging out Juventus.
