the summer following the arrivals of Matty Cash and Ollie Watkins.

goalkeeper left after Arsenal reportedly accepted a 16m pounds offer from Aston
Villa, which could potentially rise to 20m pounds with add-ons. He signed a
four-year contract with Villa.
Having impressed last season, standing in between the sticks for
the injured Bernd Leno, the Argentine kept nine clean sheets in 23 appearances
and also played a role as Arsenal lifted the 19/20 FA Cup and also the 20/21
season Community Shield victory over Liverpool.
In a post on Instagram, the 28-year old goalkeeper made an
emotional message to the Arsenal fanbase outlining his frustration during his
11-year stint at the club.
“I could not be happier to leave through the front door, with the
Arsenal fanbase supporting me. I’m very grateful for the 11 years at Arsenal,
even if it was hard for me and I suffered through my time,” he said in the
post.
“Season after season I was trying to come back to the club I love
to try and have my chance. I’m proud to have overcome my frustration and show
the Arsenal fanbase what it missed ten years ago. I knew I could do the same
thing years before. It was hard, but I knew there was light at the end of the
tunnel,” he added.
