Lakers head into Conference finals



For the first time in a decade, Los Angeles Lakers would be heading to a Western Conference final which also was the last time they won an NBA title. They would meet the winners of LA Clippers and Denver Nuggets game, which would take place later in the day.

 

The Lakers lost to Portland Trail Blazers in the Game 1 and then went ahead to win the next four games in a row. In what was Lakers Game 5 in the NBA playoffs, they won Houston Rockets with a 119-96 victory. Lakers seized control of the game in the third quarter. They lead 95-69 in the fourth quarter. Rockets rallied to cut the deficit but Lakers outshot them to book a place in the NBA playoffs final.

LeBron James with his class display, joined Oscar Robertson in an exclusive list. He became one of the only two players in post season history to put up at least 250 points, 100 rebounds and 80 assists through the first 10 games of a playoff campaign.
